Location Cooper Creek Reservoir Hike |
Where: Cooper Creek Reservoir, Douglas County |
We took friends Kerry and Debby Kliever and their dog Max on a hike today at Cooper Creek Reservoir. This is an interesting trail that I have hiked a couple of times in the past. (See Trip Journal of Nov 9, 2007) It was perfect weather and everyone including Max and Buster where up for some exercise. |

off across the dam We were surprised to find that a new trail has been built, which is wider with a much more moderate grade, replacing the old narrow trail which has a lot of steep ups and downs. This is now a trail that is appropriate for mountain bikes as well as hikers. |

old and new trail This is a trail that has some nice scenic sports, but sees very little use, which could be in part because there are no signs of any kind to indicate there is a trail. |

Pierce Canyon Inlet Because of time available, our turn around point was at the Sutherlin Inlet. I believe this trail continues on around the entire south side of the reservoir and on a future trip I hope to prove that theory. |
