Notes:This crystal clear lake was formed about 3000 years ago when lava flowed from Sand Mountain, damning up the McKenzie River.
Santiam Fish & Game Association operated a store/cafe at the north end of the lake with cabin and boat rentals for many years. In 2007, Linn County Parks took over the operation. A Forest Service campground, Cold Water Cove, is located on the south end. No motors are allowed on the lake.
