Location  Headwaters of the Metolius Hike

Where:  Deschutes National Forest

For today's hike we walked to the Headwaters of the Metolius. It was real convenient to just step out of our motor home at 10:00, walk out of Black Butte RV Park where we are staying, and hit the trail. It turned out to be two and a half miles to the headwaters. It's a beautiful hike along the upper section of the Metolius River, through the Riverside Campground to the Head of the Metolius. This is where the Metolius River flows out of the ground full bore, under the watchful eye of Mt Jefferson.
