Location Hand Lake Ski |
Where: Deschutes National Forest |
On Thursday I talked John Stolting into going back to Corbett Sno Park to ski into Hand Lake. When we left Salem at 8:00 it was pouring down rain. Once up into hight elevations that of course turned to snow. We considered ourselvs very fortunate in that a lone snowmobile had been in early this morning and gave us a nice prepared track. The quote of the day from John was: "the two best inventions in the world for cross country skiers are snowmoblies and Maxi-glide".

John skiing down to Link Lake Skiing on down into Hand Lake was perfect, an easy glide right to the lakes edge. And a perfect stopping place for lunch, with a view to Cache Mountain. |
