Location  Boundary Trail Backpack

Where:  Red Buttes Wilderness

We are home from yet another adventure. This time it was a 5 day back packing trip in the Siskiyou Mountains on what is called the Boundary Trail. The first three days we were actually in California and the last two back in Oregon. It turned out to be quite an adventure as the other vehicle we were traveling with had two flat tires on the way to the trailhead.

Our group hiking up the trail at Red Buttes. Notice the white marble.

So we had to make a trip back to Grants Pass for two new tire. This made for such a late start that we did not start hiking until after 7:00. We did not arrive at our first campsite until 10:00 that night. It's pretty dark by then! However we did have a great trip.

We did not see another soul the entire five days we were on the trail. We did see hundred of wild flowers, uncountable hills and valleys and every color of rock imaginable.
