Notes: | Once a fire lookout site, this peak provides wonderful views of nearby Hemlock Lake and Quartz Mountain, and in the distance of Diamond Peak and Mt Bailey. To hike to this summit, park in the day-use area for Hemlock Lake and head north through Hemlock Meadows on the Yellow Jacket Trail for 1 ¼ miles to the Flat Rock Trail Junction, and then climb ¾ of a mile on the Flat Rock Trail to the top. By continuing on the Yellow Jack Trail, you can make a longer loop of 7 ½ miles. Outstanding wildflower displays are to be seen in Hemlock Meadows and Yellow Jacket Glade. |
