Notes: | Mount Baldy is located in the 2492 acre Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge, named for an early rancher, was established to help protect the Dusky Canada Goose. Most of the refuge is closed to foot travel from October thru April. However the short graveled trail to the top of Mt Baldy, with a great view of the refuge, is open year around. You may also extend your hike with a circle around Baskett Butte. And from April thru September your hike can also include Morgan Lake. |
Route: | Drive 10 miles west of Salem on Highway 22, turning right on Highway 99 for 1.8 miles. Turn left on Coville Road (gravel) 1.4 miles to parking lot and trailhead. |
