Title:Row River Trail
Area:Lane County
Elevation:640 - 950 Feet
Elevation_Gain:310
Trail:Row River Trail
Misc:Row rhymes with cow, and it was a dispute, or 'row' over cows and sheep that gave birth to the name, Row River.
Links:Bureau of Land Management, Rails-to-Trails, Trip Journals - 10/15/04, 4/23/05, 5/10/06, 11/15/08
Notes:This is a wonderful paved trail on an old railroad bed that makes for excellent year around cycling or hiking. You can start on Main Street in Cottage Grove and travel 15 plus miles through the countryside past Dorena Lake, or shorten your trip up by starting at any of the addional 5 trailheads located along the way. Snacks can be purchased at the mercantile store at the tiny town of Dorena near the end. The Mosby Creek Trailhead, shown here, is the most developed with lots of parking, picnic facilities and a full-time park host.
Route:From Eugene take I-5 south 20 miles to Cottage Grove. The Cottage Grove Trailhead is located on Main Street, just east of the railroad tracks.
Distance:15.5
