Notes:Detroit Lake is a large storage reservoir on the North Fork of the Santiam River. Built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, it is one of 13 projects operated in the Willamette River watershed for flood control, power generation and recreation. It became operational in 1953. The lake receives heavy recreation use in the summer of sailing, water skiing and fishing. One state park and several forest service campgrounds provide camping opportunities.
