Date: July 22, 2013 | Location Hike to Snaggy Point | Where: Beaver Creek State Natural Area, Oregon | While working as a Volunteer Host at the Beaver Creek State Natural Area Welcome Center, I keep hearing from experienced hikers of the area, as well as the Rangers, about being able to see the ocean from a view point called Snaggy Point. I set out on this hike to see this view for myself. From the south entrance to the trail system, I walked in on the service road, turning right on the Beaver Creek Loop Trail. This trail, actually an old road, climbs up to a saddle and then follows the ridge line to where I turned off on the Snaggy Point Trail. Arriving at the top, and noticing these scenic old snags, I understood where the name comes from. | | Snaggy Point | | view of the ocean | | picnic area | | picnickers at Snaggy Point | | Beaver Creek State Natural Area map |
