Location Lemon Grove Loop Hike |
Where: Cerro San Luis - San Luis Obispo, California |
Days filled with sunshine and an abundance of nearby trails to hike is proving to be a great combination. Today we choose a trail that starts in downtown San Luis Obispo right off an off/on ramp of Highway 101. The most prominent peak next to the city is Cerro San Luis, and at the base of that peak is a large open Space donated to the city by Charles & May Maino, and in that open space is the Lemon Grove Loop Trail.

Jeanette at the trailhead Because of its proximity to the city a large number of people use this trail to walk, run and bike. Dogs on a leash are allowed too. We enjoyed the trail, and got a nice workout. We saw oak, eucalyptus, and sycamore trees, and lots of prickly pear cactus, but we never did see a Lemon Grove!
