| Date: June 12, 2010 | | Location Deschutes River Trail | | Where: Bend, Oregon | While visiting our friends Dan and Charlene in Sisters we discovered they are buying a new house in Bend to be closer to Charlene's work. It's close enough that she could walk to work and it's very close to the Deschutes River Trail. In fact you can walk out their back yard onto the Central Oregon Canal Trail and then join the Deschutes River Trail. This I had to see, so they agreed to show us and we all got in a great walk.
|  | | Charlene, Dan, & Jeanette on the Cannal Trail We started at a big parking lot across from the Old Mill District, crossed the bridge and walked to their new house, then used the Central Oregon Canal Trail to connect to the Deschutes River Trail.
|  | | Charlene & Jeanette on the Deschutes River Trail Back at the Old Mill District we selected Pastini for lunch, before shopping at REI, and finishing with ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. About as nice a hike as you can possible plan.
