Location  Bob Frenkel Boardwalk

Where:  Jackson-Frazier Wetland

While in-route from Dallas to Elkton we decided to stop at the Jackson-Frazier Wetland on the north-end of Corvallis and check out the Bob Frenkel Boardwalk. I had discovered this destination while researching books, maps and the Internet for hiking trails in the Mid-Willamette Valley.

Buster enjoying the boardwalk

Our ramble on the boardwalk cannot really be called a hike, as it is rather short, but it is in fact a board 'walk'. We found the boards very slippery from the recent rains, causing us to tread very cautiously, but our curiosity prevailed and propelled us forward to complete the loop.

Jeanette using the binoculars

Three quarters of the way through I spotted some movement at the edge of the woods. I was not sure what it was. Jeanette checked closer with the binoculars and was able to identify it as a coyote. I quickly did my best to get a photo with my 12X zoom.
