From the time I was a teenager staring at maps, I have wanted to get to Indian Prairie Lake. If I am honest with myself I will have to admit it turned out to be a bit disappointing. On the map the lake looks remote and possibly pristine. In fact, it is remote only in that it is held captive deep in private timberland.
On this day of our stocking, we were escorted to the lake through gated roads, and a watchman station, to the lake's shore. A logging operation was going on just above the east shoreline. Some how it was not the scene I had envisioned all these years. I still hope to find my way back here some time to fish this lake; at least I know there are rainbow trout here.
