Location  Eagle Cap Wilderness Backpack - Day 7

Where:  Ice Lake Junction to West Fork Wallowa River Trailhead

 

 Andy and Darcy break camp almost instantly having decided to hike out for showers at Wallowa Lake State Park. The remaining four eat breakfast and enjoy a small fire. I fry pan biscuits, and use up the rest of John's jam and have hot tea.

The hike out goes quite fast and John and I enjoy showers for two dollars each at the state park.

Distance : 3.1 miles
Descent : 855 feet
Time : 8:30 to 10:00

Leave Wallowa Lake at 11:30, stop for lunch at Denny's in Island City, Ice Cream at Cascade Locks, home by 7:30.

Additional Notes'pack weight 47lbs---did not feel too heavy, wish I had brought more fuel, more food, maybe bigger tent, and binoculars.
