Location  Eagle Cap Wilderness Backpack - Day 4

Where:  Douglas Lake to Ice Lake Junction

Everyone is impressed with my pancakes----including my stomach. A slower start today as we dry things out before leaving. It's a nice morning and our spirits are revived. Hike back on the upper trail which is less used and very scenic. We enjoy breaks with vistas.

Lunch is at Six Mile Meadow where we enjoy the sun and relax. Lot of area to camp, must come back.

Arrive at bridge to Ice Lake and decide to camp right there. The rivers look promising with potholes. Shorten by lead on my dry line and tie on a caddis. In 45 minutes I have 7 fish 7-9 inches, three brooks and four rainbows.

For dinner I trade trout for pasta with Betsy. Darcy gives me some freeze-dried carrots. A picture perfect plate.

Statistics for the day:
Distance 8 miles
Climb - 1826 feet
Time 9:30 to 3:00
