Location  Eagle Cap Wilderness Backpack - Day 3

Where:  Douglas Lake

I was waken by rain at 4:30 AM---endured as long as I could until 7:00 when I HAD to get up---dressed in all my rain gear, and went out and did my business.

Breakfast in the rain----so hungry I ate two days of oatmeal---oh well!

Because of the weather we decide to hike up to the other lakes rather than do the summit of Eagle Cap. Betsy and Pete stay in camp. It pours down rain, but we enjoy Moccasin and Mirror Lakes. At the to Horton Pass it is cold and windy, but Andy and Darcy go on to the summit. John and I enjoy a loop trail back and it stops raining. We have lunch at Crescent Lake, which has some very nice campsites.

Back at camp I go fishing, however showers and wind makes it pretty miserable. One gigantic shower I can actually hear coming across the lake, so I make a bee-line for some dry fir trees where I relax in complete dryness. Dinner of pasta.

Statistics for the day:
Distance 5.6 miles
Climb 200 feet
Time 9:00 to 1:15
