On Wednesday when I reported Jim's indigestion and lack of energy, I probably missed the diagnosis. It may have been caused by food bacteria. He felt well enough yesterday to ride, but by dinner had intense abdominal cramps again. With a less than restful night and a washed-out rider the only logical decision was to stay put and let him recover.
Port Hueneme is a beautiful coastal town centered around the Navy Seabee facility here. We are staying in a Country Inn. It is very comfortable and provides us with freshly baked cookies and crisp apples during the day, snacks and drinks at happy hours and full breakfast buffet each morning. Too bad Jim is eating just toast and tea.
The weather is lovely, light breeze, sunshine and 70+. Warm Santa Anna winds are predicted for this weekend. We don't know how that will impact our riding along the coast.
I spoke to Jim's Mom last night by Telephone. She and Payrlee arrived at the Salton Sea yesterday. If things work for us they will drive to San Diego for a visit before we head home by AMTRAK.
