campsite with Three Fingered Jack in the background Margie and I backpacked into Square Lake and set up camp on the rocky point where we were protected from the east wind and enjoyed the afternoon sun. Lots of fingerlings were surfacing from the summers stocking.

doing dishes After dinner we scraped a hole in the bottom of the boat---so that ends the evenings fishing.

retrieving dish towel The next morning our patch with tape works. Fish the west shore which looks very fishing, but give up with only strikes from fingerling. Back in camp we discover that a Golden-mantel Ground Squirrel has tried to drag our dishtowel into his hole.
