Location  California Fall Bicycle Tour - Day 4

Where:  San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay

My goal for this trip was to explore as much of the larger area as possible with out having a detailed pre-plan of stops and motel reservations. Striking out from San Luis Obispo we took the Los Osos Valley Road through farm country, stopping in Los Osos for a clothing adjustmet, shopping, and picking up some lunch supplies.

Leaving Los Osos we pedaled the hilly Pecho Valley Road out 7 miles to Montana de Oro State Park where we enjoyed lunch at a sandy beach, and then toured the park, and checked out the campground.

We retraced our climb on the Pecho Valley Road and headed for Morro Bay, stopping in Baywood Park for coffee and conversation with colorful locals. That's the real essence of bicycle touring, having the freedom to to stop an enjoy life's pleasures wherever you find them.

The next segment took us through beautiful Morro Bay State Park with its picknicing and camping areas and golf course, and into the town of Moro Bay to look for and find an inexpensive motel.
