Date: January 23, 2005 | Location Cape Horn Hike | Where: Columbia River Gorge | With skiing or snow shoeing out of the question, I came up with this hike in the Columbia River Gorge on the Cape Horn Trail. I have had the map of this hike sitting on my desk for several months to serve as a reminder, so today seemed like the time. A couple of quick calls netted some other interested hikers and off we went. This trail is not written up in any guides that I know of, so I was anxious to explore it. Lucky for us quite a bit of trail work had been done recently so we had no trouble following the route.
