Date: June 18-19, 1983 | Location Lake Ann Backpack | Where: Mt Jefferson Wilderness | | Lake Ann from the ridge This was a trip made up of myself and my wife Margie, my dad and mom, and daughter Lisa and her friend Tracy. The trip was to serve as a 'shake down' for an upcoming backpack trip that I was taking Lisa and Tracy on. We sere surprised at the mass of cars at the trailhead, but we were soon sloshing along the trail with the others. Sneaking around to the far side of Lake Ann gave us several choices of campsites. Lunch, set up camp and tried out new folding bucksaw. Works great! Hiked up to the top of the ridge on the trail side and took several photos. Dad caught three nice brookies. Apple cobbler was great recipe made too much. It rained ALL NIGHT. Breakfast,--packed up at got out. Fishermen on the trail reported were not able to get to Blue Lake due to snow.
