| Flower: | Pacific Silverweed | | Family: | Rose | | Genus / Species: | Potentilla anserina | | Notes: | I think this plant deserves a higher status than having 'weed' in its common name. It is not a foreign invasive, but a native plant, and its roots were eaten by Native Americans. It resembles a strawberry plant in several ways, but its blossom is yellow rather than white. It can also be mistaken for a buttercup. Look for this plant in the sand dunes and beaches of the Pacific Coast. | | Photo: |
