Flower:Salmonberry
Family:Rose
Genus / Species:Rubus spectabilis
Notes:On April 8, 1806,Meriwether Lewis described this flower he found along the Columbia River as haveing --five accute pale scarlet petals. Its hard to guess why it's called Salmonberry, perhaps its because the fruit matches the orange color of the salmon flesh.
