Notes: | This is one of first flowers to bloom in the spring in the Columbia River Gorge. It prefers open rocky ground where it blooms during the early moist season, then withers, going dormant through the long drought of summer. Was first identified by David Douglas near Celilo Falls in 1826. Also commonly known as Satin-flower. Was previously classified as Sisyrinchium douglasii. |
