Common Name: | Ibis, White-faced | Scientific Name: | Plegadis chihi | Family: | Threskiornithidae | Area: | Wood River Wetland, Oregon | Date: | July 12, 2012 |
A small amount of white around the eyes and base of the bill is all the white you get on the White-faced Ibis. Seen at a distance, what you will notice is a dark body and an extremely curved bill. They are commonly seen in flocks flying low overhead or feeding in flooded fields. | Reference: | Kaufman Field Guide to Birds of North America |
