The Townsend's Chipmunk is the common chipmunk West of the Cascades in Oregon and Washington. It is larger and darker than the Yellow-pine Chipmunk and the Least Chipmunk of the East side of the Cascades. It is smaller than the Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel which is often mistaken for a chipmunk. |
