Notes: | The Magic Trail is essentially a connector trail to the Monument Peak Trail System of almost 20 miles of trails. Don't be put off by the short 1.5 miles of this trail. After it terminates into the Wild Boar Trail, you have the option of continuing another half mile to the Santiam Horse Camp, or using the Wild Boar Trail to connect to the Skull Creek Trail and the rest of the Monument Peak Trails. |
Route: | From Salem take Highway 22 east to Gates, turn right on Horeb Road and continue accross the Santiam River, turning right on Gates School Road and continue straight on Henness Lane. Trailhead parking is at the corner as the road turns left and becomes Monument Peak Road. |
