Notes:Rowena Plateau is located in the Tom McCall Preserve, managed by The Nature Conservancy of Oregon. Outstanding displays of wildflowers in the springtime are the big draw here. A short trail out across the plateau leads past a couple of ponds that serve to attract a variety of bird life.
Route:Driving east on I-84 from Portland, take the Mosier exit and then continue east on the Historic Columbia River Highway over 6 miles to the Rowena Crest parking lot.
