Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stockes the lake annually with Rainbow Trout fry. | Links: | Google Map Trip Journal - 7/17/08, 7/18/08, 7/22/08, 6/23/09 | Notes: | Crabtree Lake is a tiny wilderness surrounded by clear cuts. Once an easy lake to drive to up the Crabtree watershed, it is now isolated by locked Weyerhaeuser access gates. Public access is only available via BLM roads from the Quartzville watershed.
Hikers wanting to stretch their legs, and get a work out, will want to hike the trail, actually an old decommission road, for 2.5 miles to the lake. If you are a fisherman you will probably want to drive further and be able to have to only walk ¼ of a mile to the lake.
Click on the map page to see the BLM map to help you with your route. All signage is poor to none existent, so good luck!
