Notes:Opal Lake is found in a small basin at the headwaters of Opal Creek. Opal Creek has now gained name recognition because the use of its name for the wilderness area. Interesting enough, despite lots of mining in the area, the name Opal does not come from the gem, rather Opal Lake was named for Forest Service Ranger Roy Elliot's wife, Opal.
